CHANDIGARH: The Platinum Jubilee of the Paleontological Society of India (PSI) was celebrated through a significant field program jointly organized by the Tethys Fossil Museum, Kasauli, and the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali. The field excursion began in Chandigarh and concluded at the Tethys Fossil Museum near Subathu, Himachal Pradesh, highlighting the region’s rich geological and paleontological heritage.

AMRITSAR: Guru Nanak Dev University has been steadily improving its educational rating under the stewardship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Karamjeet Singh. THE WEEK-HANSA SURVEY-2025 just announced its Best University Ranking, in which GNDU placed 12th in the category of Government Multidisciplinary Universities - All India. CHANDIGARH: Professor O.P. Katare (Retired), University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), has been appointed as the Chair Professor under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) IPR Chair scheme at Panjab University. AMRITSAR: In a landmark move to cultivate an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state, the Government of Punjab has constituted a Working Group on Higher Education Reforms for an Entrepreneurial Punjab. The initiative follows a high-level meeting chaired by the Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education & Languages recently and aligns closely with the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

PHAGWARA: In a bold and principled move reflecting national solidarity, Lovely Professional University Phagwara (LPU) has become the first private university in India to terminate all Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with institutions in Türkiye and Azerbaijan. The university has formally ended six academic partnerships with institutions in Türkiye and Azerbaijan, citing recent geopolitical developments that it deems contrary to India’s national interest.

While there is no specific record of him receiving the "India Iconic Award," his accolades include the 'Golden Book Award-2024' for his seminal work, Encyclopedia of Indian Banking Industry, and the 'Authors of New Era Award-2024' .

MOHALI: The annual fashion show Meraki 2025 was organized by Fashion Technology students at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali, Jhanjeri Campus. Himanshi Khurana, actress and style icon; Rumaan Ahmed, famous model and fashion influencer; Hartaj Singh Sandhu, entertainment personality; and many other celebrities were present at the event.

MOHALI: Sneha, a student of BA Semester 4th from the University School of Social Sciences and Education, brought honour to Rayat Bahra University by winning the prestigious Miss India Next Classic Queen 2025 title.
